Damian Preston

I graduated Sheffield Hallam University with a BA Honours Degree in Recreation, Leisure and Tourism Management in 1994 and began working for Manchester United in July 1996.  After 4 years working in the extremely busy environment of the Ticket Office I moved to the Museum and Tour Centre as Deputy Manager and by 2004 I took up the post of Museum Manager.

During my time in my current post the Museum and Tour Centre has seen a massive increase in visitor figures from 180,000 to almost 300,000 visitors.

É responsável pelas estratégias de negócio, marketing e comunicação de várias empresas multinacionais, com clientes na Europa, África, USA e Ásia. Trabalhou com clientes internacionais como a American Airlines, Marks and Spencer, Syngenta, Shell, BBC, Guinness and Marriott Hotels. Foi responsável pela estratégia de marketing da British Airways, recebendo um prémio de excelência.

Partner da PwC, é responsável pelo Departamento fiscal do Porto e líder do Hospitality and Leisure. Iniciou a sua carreira em 1988.
 
Especialista em Turismo e em serviços fiscais e estruturas societárias, incluindo Planeamento Fiscal, Reorganizações Societárias, Preços de Transferência e Fusões e Aquisições.

Colaborador do CIJE da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto e docente de fiscalidade no IFB, ISAG, Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto, bem como da Escola Profissional Cristóvão Colombo. Autor de várias escritas sobre fiscalidade.


Jemima Pyne
Communications & Publishing Manager
Tate Liverpool

Jemima Pyne is Communications and Publishing Manager for Tate Liverpool, the most visited modern art gallery in England outside London.  In 2008 Tate Liverpool has welcome more than 1 million visitors including 200,000 to Gustav Klimt: Painting, Design and Modern Life in Vienna 1900.  Jemima's responsibilities include managing Tate's involvement with Mersey Tourism and Liverpool 08's marketing activity.

She is also Chair of the Liverpool Attractions Group, which represents the leading visitor attractions in the city.  The Group works with both Mersey Tourism and Liverpool City Council's Tourism Team to deliver day visitor marketing, the group has also lobbied to ensure more coach parking throughout the city.  Jemima represent the interests of visitor attractions on the Liverpool Tourism Business Network

Jemima has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, M Des and Post Graduate Diploma in Management and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.





Kirsty Connell
Welcome Manager
Liverpool Cuture Company

Kirsty started her career in retail management, before moving into a learning and development role with a major U.K. retailer.

She has a background in developing commercially focussed training interventions for customer facing staff.
 
She returned to her home town of Liverpool in 2005 to develop and manage the 08 Welcome initiative.

08 Welcome aims to ensure that Liverpool is seen as one of the friendliest and most welcoming cities in Europe during and after its Capital of Culture year, ensuring that the city maximises the business benefits of the increased visitor numbers.

08 Welcome has been innovative in the approach it has taken. The initiative has seen training delivered to a whole range of key workers including taxi drivers, bar staff and transport staff as well as the traditional tourism businesses.

To date over 5,000 front line staff have participated in a 08 Welcome workshop and a range of support products including language materials are also available.

Kirsty has delivered presentations on culture, tourism and business engagement within Liverpool both nationally and internationally.

Já desempenhu funções como Director Sénior na área de serviços financeiros na PriceWaterhouseCoopers, foi Director Executivo da AcrossAsiaMultimedia, em Hong Kong. Desempenhou funções no Westpac Banking em Paris, Londres e Austrália. Antes de ingressar na carreira bancária desempenhou vários cargos em Portugal e em Paris nas áreas de comércio internacional e ensino especializado (economia e gestão).
